We all get tunnel-vision with respect to technology because we focus on our immediate tasks, and fail to plan for what’s coming around the bend. TOM (Technology of the Month) is our way of both reminding the Wesleyan community of technologies that we have had on campus for years that some may have never learned about, and of suggesting new, useful things have just arrived.
TOM is not an exploration of cutting-edge technology, but rather a means of helping the Wesleyan community take advantage of useful existing technologies. In that sense, it is about state of the practice rather than state of the art.
We welcome suggestions on what topics we should cover. Please let us know what interests you, and what questions you might have that we might answer via this forum.
Thanks!
